Main Line Classics 2 is without doubt the best cookbook I have ever had in 52 years of marriage. Every recipe is wonderful. The directions are easy to follow and I have raves about every meal I have prepared. This copy I bought for a friend after she and her husband had dinner with us and everything I prepared from appetizer to dessert came from this book. She wanted all the recipes so I got her the book!
I had borrowed this cookbook from my sister-in-law, who had given me the original Main Line Classics that I absolutely love and was my "go to" cookbook. Was only going make a few notations/copies of things, but so many recipes looked good, I decided to buy it used through Amazon. Very happy I did, especially for the price of $4.00!
Every recipe I have tried from this cookbook is awesome. Chicken Marengo, Chicken On Tap, French Bread Souffle, etc. are dishes I have made for family and friends again and again - all with rave reviews. The cookbook has no pictures, which is strange for me, since I like to "see" the dish I am making, but regardless, I have followed the recipes with ease and this book has never let me down!
We have used this cookbook for years and continue to go back to it again and again for our favorite and new recipes alike. I'd recommend this to anyone who is looking for not-too-complicated recipes that are delicious! Favorites are the Red Snapper with Black Bean Salsa and the French Pepper Steak - two recipes we have made dozens of times.
