What can be said about the man who punched out Piers Morgan besides A Hearty Well Done Mate!? Clarksons' personal observations of daily and the state of the rest of the world, and condense them down to book form. His writing is witty and humorous. Jeremy Clarkson is the weekend writer for the The Sunday Times when he isn't writing for the tabloid paper the Sun. He also is one of the three hosts for BBC's Top Gear (BBC America). Many of his stories are taken from those he wrote for the newspapers or experienced from Top Gear. So unless you read the British Press or watch a whole lot of "Top Gear" the stories will be fresh to you.Clarkson is a joy to read and after commencing you just don't want to put the current book down so you can get through it to await the arrival of your next Clarkson book purchase. He's spot - right - on about the issues he chooses to write about. The book is a good read and Jeremy Clarkson deserves 5 Stars, if for no other reason that putting up with James May!
This is another collection of his columns. His commentary on cars and society are always interesting and entertaining whether or not you agree with him. It doesn't matter if this is from a couple of years back or today. Still a fun read.
Another one of Jeremy Clarkson's spectacular writings, whether it is presenting Top Gear or writing up an article, he makes everything exciting. Generally, I don't care for reading books, but this one I couldn't bring myself to put it down. I was entertained during every page and laughed aloud pretty much the whole time. However though, Clarkson has a tendency to be very opinionated. I could see how this could be offensive to some, but there is really nothing wrong with writing your opinion. That's what makes the book come alive with voice. It's personal and exceedingly hilarious; you really can get a taste of Clarkson from this book which will almost certainly draw you back for more. I really would highly recommend the book, and that's coming from a person who would rather do quantum physics than pick up some so called "good reads." I would read it again in a heart beat, and that's the truth. It's the same story with Top Gear; I just can't change the channel. No matter how many times you see the same episode it never gets dull. Clarkson makes you love Top Gear and all of his writings. In one way or another you will find a way to love this book. Many topics are covered in this book, and every one of his articles has his finger prints all over it. This is a true work of Clarkson and you will not go wrong buying it, it was worth every penny.
I laughed out loud. What kind of a mind does Mr. Clarkson have that consistently he can produce such relevant and/or witty columns. Subsequently, I have bought three more of his books.
Jeremy Clarkson has a fantastic sense of humor. I came across his first book accidentally at an airport and then just couldn’t stop reading all the ones I could lay my hands on. This book is perfect for people who like cars and great jokes.
I love Jeremy Clarkson. I hadn't read his columns before, other than what was posted to Top Gear's website. As usual, his 'round about wit, is nothing short of hysterical. I think where I ran into a wall is when he started making sense. I thought, holy cow am I going insane too?! Great read.
Clarkson is shy and retiring with his opinions, about as shy as a hurricane, and with the same amount of wind blowing about. Some of the columns convince us that he is living a few centuries after his comfort zone, but then you come across a column that is a home run, it amazes and amuses.
I bought 4 of his books for my hubby (we're huge Top Gear UK fans). This...was not what we expected. At all. Not sure if that's good or bad. Honestly these books come across more as general ramblings (like he was talking to himself). Not good. Not bad.
