Although it added to the page length, which may at first seem a bit intimidating, it is really just from the graphics and listing each process by itself. For example, it might be that to make an ad with a single image and to make a video ad start out the same way but the author has gone through each process from start to finish so you don’t need to dig for the information. This makes me feel more comfortable with trying to do a certain type of advertising and more confident that I can accomplish it. I love the resources that are included in the manual as well, especially the links to help from Facebook because I have spent hours in the past trying to find information to contact Facebook and just running in circles. There are also plenty of other outside sources to help you stay up to date in the field if you try to manage your account alone as well as a resource for you to arrange for a consultation from the author’s business which does these types of ads. The only really confusing part of the book for me was in the beginning. Chapter two was almost Japanese to me as it started explaining terms with no reference for where or how I was going to use them. I felt like this just should have been included in the glossary in the back of the book and the author could have used more context to explain those terms. I’m still not entirely sure about pixels although the were explained in context later in the book and helped me to clarify why they were so important as well as how to make them and install them, but after chapter two and until the later material I just wasn’t sure what it was all about. In the end, however, it was explained quite well. This is definitely a resource book you’ll want to have around if you are a business owner that utilizes Facebook, and honestly that is most businesses these days. In order to pay off this debt, governmental bodies have come to extract money from the populace via policing and incarceration, leading to a government that is more accountable to its creditors than to the public. As she explains, “this has a de-democratizing effect.”She ends this revolutionary book on a high note, evoking speculative futures in which prisons are a thing of the past.

Really loved my pets, Miss them so much, After reading this book I was convinced that they also loved and miss me, so many signs that they are with me every day.. so many questions answered of the unusual things going around me that I could not figure out, but, now I have answers...You must believe , and accept ... they are with you, and when our time here on earth ends, we will all be together again..

I had to put my 17 year old Yorkie to sleep 2 months ago. Unfortunately, his body was shutting down and I could not let him suffer.I'm lost without Stewie. He's the love of my life.I always believed in getting signs from the afterlife.I found this book. It is a great read. I am a complete believer that my Stewie is always with me and we will always stay in contact. I've gotten sings almost everyday including dream visitations, hearing him walking around my room and drinking from his water bowl, I felt him lay next to me on my bed, cloud formations of his face, and he sends me cardinals everyday.It's very comforting to know that Stewie is always around me and that I'm able to communicate with him. I know he loves me unconditionally and when I need him or feel really sad, he sends me a sign. I definitely recommend this book to anyone who lost their beloved pet.

I came across this book by accident when researching another book that was recommended to help me through my profound grief. I now believe that it was my little Primo’s way of trying to show me that he is trying to reach out to me. I never knew much about signs of the afterlife from our loved ones. Nothing except for the stereotypical light flickering or songs on the radio. After reading this book... WOW. I learned about so many ways they will use to reach out to you. After reading this book (the significance of finding coins is highlighted in a chapter) I started to find pennies and dimes EVERYWHERE. I even saw a little pigeon that had a feather mohawk (much like my litle Primo had an adorable mohawk that was one of my favorite things about him.) It opened my eyes to the amazing communication our loved ones still have with us from another dimension. It actually brought me tremendous comfort and I actually helped me feel strong enough to go back to work, knowing Primo is with me always. This book is amazing. I purchased this one and also another.Definitely don’t pass this one up.

I read the reviews and bought it. I lost my cat Smokey he was FeLV positive. Smokey to lived to be 9 years which is amazing being a FeLV cat.He had an incredible presence and so smart. I adopted a cat on the same day with my oldest son. He lives on his one and adopted his second FelV. I wasn't planning on another cat that day. We had two carriers in his truck he had planned on two kittens but, decided on an adult cat. The shelter heard we had the two carriers and they told me they had the cat for me a very sweet young cat that was hit by a car and had hip surgery. I fell her as soon as she was on my lap. Leaving the shelter with our cats in the carrier we stopped for litter. My son went in the store first and I was in the truck when a big beautiful butterfly appeared and was just flying around the hood of the truck, unusual for a fall day. The next morning I was eating breakfast when a ladybug just appeared walking on my on my bathrobe and my robe has a very busy palm tree print. I released the ladybug outside. That night watching the TV, I live in a very old house and have a gas heater, It began making the loudest noises and it wasn't on. I truly believe it was Smokey telling me he loved me and he is happy with the adoption. Occasionally I will see Smokey run by. This book is amazing and I can't say enough how wonderful it is. I truly believe that our pets from the afterlife are still present with us.

At a time of my lost, I needed this to help me get over the pain I felt of her lost. We never dreamed, when we woke up that morning, she would be dead by 5:30pm. While it was a typical day for her, when I returned home from grocery shopping, I knew something was not right with her, never, did I believe she be gone 4 hours later. My heart was so broken, and I mourned like I had never ever had a fur baby before...and still 6 months later cry when I think of her...this book help me to believe she is waiting for me and running and playing with all her other siblings she lost before her. This was a quick read for me prior to my second trip to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. It helped fill in some of the cultural basics that were not readily apparent from business interactions. I felt more confident this time around and thought that perhaps I understood a little more about my hosts. The book doesn't cover anything in depth, but I recommend it for anyone who has to go there on business.

Much of the information the author shares is useful, but almost all of his observations seem to come from a culturally biased perspective (and doesn't that fly in the face of the purpose of the "Cutlure Smart!" series?), a view that seems unable to see beyond the obvious. Although the author apparently lived in Saudi for a time, I was shocked, repeatedly, by how many things he gets wrong. Just two simple examples: he talks about camera phones being banned in KSA. Not true, and according to my inquiries, has never been true. He says that Saudis are generous tippers. What?!! Tipping is not cutomary here, anywhere I've traveled (and I've traveled extensively around the country), and is viewed with bemused skepticism. Saudis rarely tip, and if they do, it is verrrrry grudgingly... even when they're in western countries where it's expected. These are minor things, but they are indicative of a pattern of statements that runs throughout the book. Because many readers may know nothing about KSA, they will accept the author's statements as facts. But he is frequently wrong. Giving him the benefit of the doubt, maybe these things were misunderstandings, or he heard them from unreliable sources; perhaps they were quirks of the neighborhoods where he lived (in Jeddah, a city on the western coast)... but that seems doubtful. Regardless, if you're presenting materials as accurate truths, especially about a place as distant, misunderstood, and politically sensitive as Saudi Arabia, shouldn't we expect better?This is my first Amazon review, but I feel compelled to set the record straight, or at least, straight-er, in response. I'm a westerner, currently living and working in Riyadh, the capital of Saudi Arabia; I've been here for 2 years. I can't in any way call myself an expert about this cutlure, but I have worked very hard to meet and befriend Saudis, venture far beyond the boundaries of western haunts, and open my mind to as untainted a view of the place as one can manage. I'm not always successful, and sometimes I hate it here -- but I try to see the world around me as clearly and honestly as I can. The creators of this book do not seem to be feel the same responsibility.

This is an interesting guide, however, once you get to Saudi and live here, you realise what you read and what actually happens are two very different things. I really love this place. So interesting and full of contradictions.

I read this book before and during my visit, it seemed to help a lot with what to expect and what I experienced. I finished reading it the day before my departure, so in summary, I would recommend it to a person visiting Saudi Arabia. Since I did not come on business, I really couldn't rate that part of the book.

This was a great intro book that gives a newcomer a very good general understanding of what to expect when getting into the kingdom and being subject to Saudi culture.

Very practical. Good introduction to Saudi Arabian culture, history and useful information you need to know on daily basis.

"Death in the Afternoon" is a non fiction account of bullfighting in Spain by Ernest Hemingway. The book combines a detailed, sometimes painful, account of bullfighting with the classic Hemingway writing style. In that context this book provides an interesting juxtaposition to Hemingway novels. While non fiction, there is definite evidence of the Hemingway literary style.Ernest Hemingway seemingly lived a life of the classic, so called, "man's man" and with that in mind some of this narrative is predictable. Mr. Hemingway does his best to portray bullfighting as a classic and honorable art form, while some readers may find the subject matter cruel and gruesome. There are also some brief asides about other subjects including homosexuality that seemed disparaging. Given the timeframe and the fact that the author is Hemingway, some of that is also predictable. I do not intend to defend bullfighting, but I did find the book educational and I am glad that I read it.I have previously read numerous Hemingway novels and one non fiction, "A Moveable Feast". As literature I liked this book very much and feel it is an interesting work to compare and contrast to "A Moveable Feast". Hemingway reveals a good bit about himself and one can tell when Hemingway has "an axe to grind".In summary, I liked this work as a reading experience and am definitely glad that I read it. I have no intention of defending bullfighting. There are other Hemingway works that I find distasteful, such as the novel "To Have and Have Not" and the short story "Up In Michigan", works that I did not like either as subject matter or as literature. That is not the case with this book. Thank You...

Death In The Afternoon is one of my favorite books. I have read it now 3 times. This book is expertly written as you would expect from Hemingway. The book is the gold standard by which all other books on the subject of bull fighting is compared to. Most of the men Hemingway writes of were all active in the earlier days of bullfighting. He goes into great depth and detail to explain each part of the even as well as the different people who are active in each segment and what they do. Hemingway also fully explains all the passes found in the fight and explains in minuet detail the history of the fighting even down to ranches that raised the best fighting bulls. If you have any interest in bull fighting do take the time to read this book. This is Hemingway at his very best.

I came this book indirectly after watching the 2015 movie "Papa Hemingway in Cuba." I have admired his books since high school, and I was aware of this book by Hemingway but I really did not understand what the book was about until I read it. Now, I think it is one of his best books. It is absolutely about bull-fighting, and in detail. But Hemingway is really writing about life as a whole. He is writing about a time in his life when he was in love with life. The descriptions of towns and farms and people and the bull-fights are beautiful. It is a man's view, but this man was a master of words.

This book was a genuinely delightful surprise. I love Hemingway, as many people do, and some of his works such as The Sun Also Rises, The Green Hills of Africa and A Moveable Feast, I have read again and again. But I put off reading this book as it just seemed a little hard to swallow a 485 page book that is explaining bullfighting. Wow, was I surprised. First off, we all know Hemingway loved bullfighting and was an aficionado to say the least. But as begins this book his candor and almost gossipy manner is so much looser and just plain funny. It was almost like reading an Anthony Bourdain book. He describes certain types of hack writers as just creating "erectile writing," and as he analyzes things he refers to himself jokingly as Dr. Hemingstein. But the other side of the humor in this book is the wonderful way he describes regions of Spain, talking about how at one location you can purchase the freshest strawberries and fresh asparagus as big around as my finger to sup on before the fights. He describes why you have to go visit Madrid and Ronda, not just because of the bullfights, but because of the culture and beauty. Hemingway was in love with Spain and in this book his passion for Spain oozes out of every page. The stories he tells about the bullfighters are inspiring and interesting, describing an almost subculture of humanity who stare death in the face everyday and are brave in a way that goes beyond normal. If you like Hemingway I would strongly recommend you read this book.

I first read this book in hardcover format over 50 years ago and it has not lost any of it's magic.Much has changed since Hemingway wrote it. My memories of the bulls, corridas and faenas are more recent with names such as Miguel Baez El Litri, Manolo Gonzalez, Antonio Ordonez, El Codobes and others gracing the bull rings, giving both excellent and poor afternoons as they showed courage, and sometimes fear, of the bulls that had been allotted to them. In those years Angel Peralta, the rejonador, who carried out the faena from his beautiful horses, always made a very unique spectacle.After going to many bull fights and novilladas over the years, I experienced ones where the "duende" had entered the ring, and everything went well, and to those where the bullfighters had cushions thrown at them as they failed in their duties.To see the bulls in their corral,at a bull ranch at El Escorial, near Madrid, a few days before they were taken to the fight, one sensed that bulls and man are made for one another to share in the artistry and tragedy that has to end in death, of one or the other, or both.Hemingway's book is for all those who want to understand this artistry and tragedy, before this unique event passes to history, as it has already done in Barcelona.

This is the story of Lila Mae Watson, an engineer of highest caliber working in the highest expression of the art – elevator engineering. She is a government official in the most prestigious government office - she is an elevator inspector. She is a black (or “colored,” as the author calls her.) She is the first black woman to achieve such status.The time is uncertain, but it seems to run concurrently with that of The Maltese Falcon or Farewell My lovely. The dialog and the action seem to parallel a post great war mystery. You expect the desk clerks to be called Velma and the character cast is made up of thugs, patsies, crooks and seekers of the truth. The plot is a mystery – who caused the elevator in the newly christened Fanny Briggs building to fail?Clearly, all of this is symbol. Elevators are the mechanisms of ascension. We’re moving to a higher plane led by Lila Mae. The main engineering texts are the volumes of Theoretical Elevators. This is a book without equations and light on the diagrams. The text is full of life philosophy largely relating to the human condition. Now, Lila Mae is building on this, taking us higher but in a different direction. Her science is “intuitive” more human than that of the old, mechanistic, dominantly white society.There were a lot of really good set-ups in this novel that didn’t quite make it in the end. The period piece feel of the book was carried off well. Lila Mae was fairly well drawn, a mixture of hard and soft. The softness was that of the submissiveness Fanon attributed to colonial subjugation of black women. But there was hardness, a determination that was leading to elevation. Unfortunately, she is the only character with any depth.There were a lot of running jokes, like the importance of elevator engineering, that kind of fell flat in the end. But the main problem was with Lila Mae. Nothing in her character suggests a real break with or improvement on existing social norms. There was nothing to get you to really root for her (apart from her position as “victim.”) So the whole read seemed to lack a real point in the end.

Other reviewers and the description of the novel in the listing reveals that this is the story of a parallel universe dominated by the world of elevators. The main character, Lila Mae Watson is the first female Elevator Inspector and one of the first blacks to achieve this distinction. The time period is somewhere in the past, maybe the 30's or 40's, when we saw the growth of cities and the rise of the industrial age. Blacks certainly had no equality and the author makes the racism palpable in the characters that comprise the plot. Like Lila Mae, this novel doesn't fit into a nice genre slot but blends elements of several genres in a way that is sometimes confusing and perplexing. Satirical elements overlap analogy and the elevator metaphor can stand for religion, upward mobility, politics, corporate life and race relations. The writing is always original and distinctive, full of dark humor and surprising juxtapositions. The writing is certainly original and inventive which makes this novel often puzzling, thought provoking, quirky, and ultimately very entertaining if the reader doesn't simply get lost in this rich mix.

An interesting premise and a beautifully written novel, but I was bored until the halfway point. Part of the problem is the elevator theme, which I found much less interesting than the author; the rest is that the protagonist, Lila Mae Watson, is undeveloped and rather dull. Fortunately the second half was much better; I'm glad I read it.

It's definitely got some lofty writing, but it enriches the story about something that seems as mundane as elevator inspection. It has an incredibly strong and complex female lead and a fascinating story surrounding her history and work. Would not recommend to people who can't swim through dense writing with lofty language. Would definitely recommend to those who are interested in feminism and race issues.

But I really enjoyed it. I kept waiting for the story is to take a turn into the fantastic; but it didn't. I kept wondering why I was reading a story about elevator inspectors. I wasn't sure if the story took place in the past or the future. I wasn't sure if we were on earth or somewhere else ... but I kept reading. In some ways, the story reminded me of another amazing book "the city and the city" by China Mieville. Very nicely done.

I ordered this expecting a list of all the campgrounds within the U.S National Forest for these states. However, you get a list of campgrounds that meet only a prescribed set of criteria that cater to RV,s. As a tent camper I would have preferred a total list of all campgrounds,developed or not developed. But I do have to say the authors did put together a very well written book with very informative details of the campgrounds they had reviewed and I will use this book often as I camp in these states. I do wish they had put a list of all the campgrounds in their book, even the ones they did not visit.
