More Creative Lettering by Jenny Doh is a great compilation of lettering by various artists. This is not one of those "step by step" brush techniques type lettering book, but instead more of an inspiration book. There are some instructions on how to get started one drawing the various fonts (usually one letter, not the whole alphabet), but for the most part, you will need to have a keen eye and the ability to figure out how to draw many of the fonts yourself.With that in mind, I found this book very helpful in upping my font drawing game. Special tools such as calligraphy pens or specific pen nibs are not required - many of the fonts you can draw using just a pencil. The book is littered with craft ideas, tips about layouts, and just pages and pages of gorgeous lettering. I was so impressed with this book that I ended up purchasing a copy for my sister who is dabbling in bullet journaling. With fifteen different artists' works to look at, there's plenty of fonts you can practice and lots of inspiration to be had. Overall, if you're looking for inspiration for lettering, this is a fantastic book to consider. If you're looking for step by step instructions on how to draw specific letters, this book may not be what you're looking for.

As the title implies, this is a second book about hand lettering, edited by Jenny Doh. I do agree with the other reviewer - this book does not contain exhaustive instructions on how to accomplish certain styles of lettering. Instead, it showcases various artists, a few lettering styles, and some ideas for activities. The first book is similar.Since I own the first book, I wasn't disappointed by the content in this one. It was exactly what I expected, and I was pleasantly surprised by the list of contributors. the first two are artist-teachers that I already follow. This is better than the first one. I like this book a lot because of the colourful graphics and representations of various letterings and calligraphy. It is a good source of inspiration and reference. Definitely a must have!

This book is not instructive. It give examples but doesn't tell HOW to create the letters. It's OK for reference and has a few full alphabets. Overall I'm a bit disappointed with it.

This is more or less samples of various artist's lettering techniques. Many pages don't contain the whole alphabet. It's ok but not what I expected and not as much help with ideas as I needed.

Not as good as I thought it would be

A fun idea book for lettering -- I've used it many times for inspiration when journaling and writing creative letters to my grandchildren. They love it when I doodle for them. :)

For someone wanting to learn hand lettering, there would be other books that are more helpful.

This was extactly what i needed to finish off my studying before my evidence exam. This book with multiple choice and essay exams ensured that all the concepts were clear, and helped enforce everything I had learned in class. I would not suggest this book for someone who did not pay attention through out the semester to help them learn the class in a week. I know we have all been there. but this book is great to top off studying or to gauge where you stand and how much more or little you may need to study.

I would caution other students from taking this supplement. On many answers, I found errors in the law. Other times, the answers seemed dubious at best, with conclusory explanations that provided little reasoning. If you're looking for some multiple choice practice questions to help prepare you for evidence, you are much better off looking at bar exam questions from previous years.

This book will help teach you critical Evidence concepts. It's great for teaching Evidence to yourself or for review. The answers give clear explanations as to why X is the correct answer and why Z is the wrong answer. The Kindle version is also easy to navigate. I'm glad I bought it.

Great for exam prep. Good questions; good answers. There are a couple questions in the book that I definitely think contradict the Federal Rules of Evidence, but I could be mistaken.

Very good selection of multiple choice questions, and useful either as a tool to review following the semester or a more piecemeal week-by-week study guide. NOTE: Buy the print version. I first ordered the electronic copy and the formatting was poor, and with the Questions and Answers in separate halves of the book, it made checking answers after completing a section unduly cumbersome.

This Q&A book helped tremendously as I prepared for final exam in evidence. It covers all of the nuances in the areas of the Federal Rules of Evidence that my professor really harped on (the relevancy and admissibility of character evidence and exceptions to hearsay). Just check out the table of contents - the book really covers everything. I would highly recommend it.

Excellent multiple choice questions. Really helpful in preparing for the final exam. Hundreds of questions covering all of the FRE articles. I like how you get explanations for the correct answers AND for the incorrect answers. I also like the cumulative exams at the end. I recommend it!

I was excited for this book, that's why I pre-ordered it months in advance. I had heard just from being a part of "Bachelor Nation" - through podcasts, Twitter, etc - that Amy Kaufman had a real inside look into the Bachelor franchise. Why do I honestly watch the Bachelor? Years ago, it was because I loved watching a love story unfold (it used to happen!). Now? I watch it because it's more like a sport, a hobby. There are podcasts, which I listen to on the drive to and from work. There are books, there are fantasy leagues, there are viewing parties. It's a culture. It's as simple as that. I didn't really need a 300-page book to tell me why I watch it, but that's what this was. Which is absolutely fine - just not why I bought the book. I thought it was going to be that true, behind-the-scenes look, spilling secrets, sharing intel, things like that. There was some of that, but it was mostly studies about behaviors surrounding the show (from fans and contestants alike), and many points of view from celebrities about why they watch they show. Anyway, if you're looking for the inside scoop I'd probably read something written by a former Bachelor/Bachelorette themselves. If you want the psychology behind it, then this is a great choice for you.

A book that had a lot of info that long time bachelor fans would already know, interspersed with random interviews from celebs that are fans of the show to pad it out. Almost half of the book is citing sources, including MANY other books, and with the interviews it is half the book which leaves not much for us to read. It is kind of interesting and if you don't know much about behind the scenes on bachelor it's great otherwise watch unreal and skip this

The past few years have found me a casual watcher of The Bachelor. Years before I devoured each season before they became 2-hour long commercial money grabs. Amy wrote a great book for casual or hardcore watchers of The Bachelor with commentary from season past's members of Bachelor Nation.She confirms and explores things you think about reality shows especially about how The Bachelor came to be. She covers the history of dating shows and the how the forces behind The Bachelor created and gatekeep the rules and the players on the shows. She writes in a great breezy style that doesn't insult your intelligence while also not being dry. She's coalesced a lot of information that has been out there in the zeitgeist and tried to keep it framed in a relatable way for casual to hardcore watchers.

Fun book. Author knows the show, its producers, and the contestants well and it's fun to hear a bit of the inside story. I read it in two days, so it kept my interest.

This is an excellent book for the hardcore, Bachelor Nation fanatic (me), the casual viewer, or the hate-watcher. It's an insult to call this a juicy tell all. Amy Kaufman provided a fascinating exploration of why contestants continue to sign up for this show, and why we as viewers watch. But yes, you also get what you wanted in terms of behind-the-scenes secrets, and gory details. But believe me, knowing how the proverbial sausage is made doesn't take away from this show, it adds to it. It allows you to enjoy what you're watching, but take comfort in knowing that you aren't alone in your obsession. Hope this is the first of many books from talented writer/journalist Amy Kaufman.

This book gives you an inside look at the Bachelor/Bachelorette shows. I absolutely love the shows and am a loyal watcher since the beginning so of course I wanted to know more about it! The book provides a great balance of inside scoop, production details and opinion. I really like the format of the book in that author Amy Kaufman has a brief guest opinion at the end of each chapter. These are fun to read and my favorites were from Donnie Wahlberg and Amy Schumer. The book covers everything from what happens in the fantasy suites to “can you still say you’re a feminist and watch the show.” Like the show, the book was a hit for me! Amy’s writing style is fun and easy to read and somehow I know that her writing is exactly how it would be if you were just having a conversation with her at one of her Bach viewing parties. I recommend this one!

As a fan of the bach I was excited for a discussion about why we all love to hate on the bachelor franchise and this did not disappoint. I was surprised how well researched this book was. The author included the history of dating on television and explored how we got to where we are every Monday night. This wasn’t an exposé so the whimsical writing style of the author fit perfectly with the topic. I thought the book was entertaining and fun to read.

Like the show this is a guilty pleasure. Amy does a nice job giving the backstory of dating shows, Fleiss, the shows first few seasons, before getting into the workings of the show/seasons

This book has been a surprise gem for me. I've always loved makeup colors and looks, but then tended to be very low maintenance, personally. However, I recently decided I was going to put a touch more effort into "me" time, starting with the purchase of a Clarisonic and some other skin care goodies. I saw this book cited in a magazine article where the author's portrait showcased her RADIANT complexion. She seriously glowed in this fantastic non-makeup looking way. I decided to buy the book and dove right in to the author's world of Korean skin care.Although there are definitely moments where I wish the author went more in-depth, or things were outlined perfectly clearly, I know from experience that food, health and beauty is never "one size fits all". So, instead I allowed myself to enjoy getting carried away to another world I had never really considered before: Seoul. The author's wonderful description of the people, city, food and culture made me want to sign up for a trip instead of just a new beauty regimen... and the plane tickets sure are cheaper than going to Europe. *fidget-fidget*Well, since I don't know a lick of Korean and now isn't a good time for a trip, I used the inspiration and suggestions from this book to pick up an assortment of (freaking seriously adorable!!) beauty products from Amazon. She does have a cute little website, and I was considering supporting her until I saw the huge array of offerings on Amazon-- and I am sorry, but I am spoiled by Amazon Prime! Search for: Tonymoly, Etude, Too Cool for School-- and others!I have to say that with the authors suggestions I felt the confidence trying things out, when I may have been more worried before reading this book if the products were legit. And, wow!, is she right-- Korean beauty products are mostly beyond adorable (think pandas, dinosaurs, puppies, fruit with faces and so many colors!) and mostly really frugally priced. Many things are under $10 and pretty much all are under $20. For under $150 I was able to pick up the most adorable hairband with kitty ears to hold back my hair while I give myself my daily "spa time", a hairband that is a fuzzy bow with dots, an awesome-sounding oil cleanser, water cleansers that look like eggs in an egg carton, pore cleaning strips that look like strawberries, brightening mask that looks like a tomato, a whole set of paper masks with cute wrappers that do different things, a huge set of lip glosses that look like bunnies, a cushion compact in my super pale skin tone, a triple set of blotting papers with a box that has dinosaurs walking through the city on the cover, and a light powder that looks like a smiling kitty (I know it's not dewy but I have very oily skin! It's for my t-zone only!). I also was lured into getting these little foam strawberry hair curlers... and a couple things doubled up for Christmas presents. Tiny, cute and frugal? What great qualities for stocking stuffers!Thanks to this not-so little book I feel like I have not only been opened up to a huge new world of affordable and adorable beauty products, but also to the thought of really enjoying my "me" time. I have been attempting to begin treating my skin as I will when I have all my new goodies and just the mindset has me feeling and looking better than ever. I am so excited for the goodies to arrive, I actually want to *Squee!* out loud, and be assured I will review each item as it arrives and I try it out. A warm-fuzzy thanks to Charlotte Cho! Maybe someday I will get to visit Seoul, have Korean BBQ, soju and a fun shopping spree! Until then there are animal-shaped face mists! :DUPDATE: 11/25/2015 A bunch of my goodies have already arrived (TY Amazon Prime!) and I am blown away by the packaging and how effective so many things have been even upon first use. Also I have marveled at how nice the other products, like the essency masks, have felt (which I hope to have positive cumulative effects!) that I will be rereading this book to look for more of her "favorites" to try down the line. After going through a "more-multi than I am used to"- step program this evening, with a double cleanse and a mask and some treatments... my skin looked amazing. Literally the best I can remember it looking post-puberty. Even my dear exasperated boyfriend said, "YES! I can see your glowing and poreless skin from here!! No I am not coming in there to stare at your nose!" :P Again, Thank you Charlotte Cho! :DUPDATE: 01/04/2015 I've been using methods and products suggested or influenced by having read this book for a couple months now and I couldn't be more pleased with the results. My one-time, clogged, blemish-prone, sensitive, starting to show tiny signs of aging, skin has been looking nicer and nicer. And I've been spending a fortune on product after product, looking for results without burning my face off, for decades now. The products I've found because of the influence of reading this book have given me my best skin since I was a pre-teen. Plus, I am enjoying it as "me" time, complete with cat ears headbands to hold my hair out of my face while I wear sheet masks and use products that come in panda bear-shaped tubes. I feel giddy sometimes at the whole experience- feeling fresh and pretty as well as having fun and enjoying myself. Oh, and though there are a lot of products I have gotten, some of which I have reviewed already, too-- if you have similar skin you may like "Mizon Snail" and "Skin Food Peach" products, in particular. Okay. I NEVER write reviews, but I HAVE TO for this book!!! Within the past month, I became very interested in Korean Beauty Routines, and learned all that I thought I needed to know from Charlotte Cho's website, "The Klog". I had no intention of buying her book since I felt like everything I wanted to learn about was already on the internet. What changed my mind was an excerpt from the book that was posted on her blog. It was such a cute, relatable, fun story-telling way of delivering information. True, a lot of the information in this book is on the blog, but you get A LOT more of the "scientific" explanations in an easy-to-understand way. The tone of the book is very friendly, and I feel like she's an older sister telling me about her adventures in both her beauty routine and travels.This book also reveals a ton about Korean culture, and more than ever, do I want to buy a ticket to go!!I'm 22 next month, and have been suffering from acne since I was about 11. I have oily and sensitive skin, with tons of hyperpigmentation, huge pores, very prone to whiteheads. Cystic pimples are very common. I've been on Accutane, have used topical treatments out the wazoo, have chemical peels from dermatologists, done the all-natural-hippy-dippy routine (as in, wash my face with pure honey, toned with ACV, moisturize with aloe vera/oils/witch hazel)...and never before have I felt more optimistic and excited about KBeauty and all the information I learned. Hopefully I will remember to come back in a month to edit my review to show how KBeauty has helped me!

I originally bought this book because I was interested in the 10-step Korean skincare routine from SOKO glam. I have always had combination skin with acne that lasted year round. I don’t think my face has been “clear” since 5th grade. I had tried everything from doctor prescribed oral/topical medications to big brand name acne products to home remedies. What I really liked about this book was that it addresses common misconceptions (author is originally from California and so she is very aware of Americanized skin care. I.e. my skin is oily so I need to dry it out with astringent. Tight skin feels clean. A tan indicates that someone is healthy and active. Etc. ). Korean skincare is about addressing particular skin needs and preventing further damage to skin. So in that sense it was helpful to have her breakdown how each product aids in the process of moisturizing and healing the skin.With that said, about 1/3 of the book was just about Korean food and life in Korea. That’s cool, but I didn’t even read the last 1/4 of the book because it was mostly off topic. I think it’s great for those who are interested in learning about and visiting Korea, but It wasn’t for me. I may gift a copy of this to some friends who are into Kdramas and, like myself, could use some help in the skin department.As far as actually constructing a skin care routine from the information provided in this book, I feel like it has given me a good place to start, but does not leave me feeling confident that this information alone has given me the knowledge to be successful. I first looked at the products in Soko glam’s 10 step kit for my skin type and made as close as I could to a duplicate set on amazon. Then, as I read through the book, I adjusted the list with suggested items and items that may target my skin better. I had to flip back and fourth through three areas of the book to start understanding what ingredients to choose and what to avoid. The First section was about the process and how it works, then I had to flip to the the section that addresses what to products to buy and what the benefits of each was (not highly detailed), then to a third section that talks about what ingredients to look for within a product. This was laborious and frustrating. I also felt a little abandoned because it’s an introductory book, yet several times the author repeats that it is up to us to look up the ingredients and to know what the benefits are for our skin (talked about benefits in general for skin, but now how they relate to specific skin types). I get it, I’m a big girl, but it would have been nice to have a section that said what products shouldn’t be mixed and what products are generally best for what skin types to give is a firm place to start. I feel like I had to make many educated guesses and had to do google research as I read through the book. I would suggest finding Korean skincare groups to help you as you assemble a skin care routine as well. Even just reading through their posts might drop little bits of info that help you along the way.On a final note: the author infrequently uses slang that not all readers will be familiar with. I had to google a items and I am a 25 year old technology savvy person who works with school aged children for a living. It wasn’t detrimental, but a kept looking for a footnote when I came across abbreviations with no explanation.Will update with information regarding the 10 step routine itself and the ease of adjusting the routine based on information provided in the book.

Richard Bertinet has more than 20 years experience in the kitchen, baking, consulting, and teaching. In 2005 he set up The Bertinet Kitchen cookery school in Bath, which now attracts people from all over the world to participate in his classes. His first book, Dough, was awarded The Guild of Food Writers Award for Best First Book, the Julia Child Award for the Best First Book, and the James Beard Award for Best Book Baking and Desserts. Bread and Pastry Chef Richard has done it again. If you’re able to purchase all three books go for it, Dough, Crumbs and Pastry are all wonderful and easy to follow. Richard knows how to make you understand how each ingredient works together and his sense of humor is contagious. Great work Chef 💋

It has classic receipes, but they are well explained with a little twist and nice combinations that would provide a base for you to add more and imagine other varieties and combinations

Very good book for those who want to take "patisserie" seriously!

Love the mouth-watering recipes! They are not impossible to do at home. The only reason I gave 1 star less because photos aren't included in all or most recipes. It would be nice to see how the baked goods look like with the help of photos. Other than lack of photos, I have nothing to complain. For American readers, the recipes use metric measurement as the author is from UK. However, I'm very familiar with using metric measurement when baking. So, I don't see it as a problem.

One of the best cookbooks on desserts I've read in quite a while.
